Springfield Flea Market

Growing up just down the road in Blackville, I spent many early Saturday mornings at the Springfield Flea Market.

Somehow I talked my Dad into buying me and my sister four different bunny rabbits, countless homemade powdered doughnuts and probably several hundred pounds of boiled peanuts (not all at the same time of course). Take it from me; flea markets can hold just as many good memories as they do good deals.

The Springfield Flea Market claims to be the oldest in South Carolina. It has been going on since 1958, and is still packed every weekend. The market is located at 9113 Neeses Highway at the intersection of Highways 3 and 4 in Springfield. It is open every Saturday and Monday from 5am-2pm.

Travel Tip: Make a day of it and check out the locally-owned shops and restaurants in downtown Springfiled, home of the annual Governor's Frog Jump!
