Visitors Center in historic depot

One of the town's oldest buildings and a beloved local landmark, the Westminster Train Depot serves as a visitors center and the headquarters for the Westminster Chamber of Commerce. The original Westminster Freight Depot was built in 1885 and eventually the current structure was built as a passenger depot in 1911. As railroad passenger travel declined throughout America, Westminster's rail services were discontinued by 1970. The depot has undergone several alterations, however the basic integrity of the design remains including a prominent hip roof with deep overhang and 22 windows with diamond shaped panes. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
