1917 home, geneaology center and museum

The J.J. Dorn House was built in 1917 on Gold Street and was the first brick home in McCormick. Dorn and his brother owned lumber yards and farmland in the early part of the 20th century. He was president of Dorn Banking Company and a state senator. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the first floor houses a museum depicting the lifestyle of wealthy southerners during the turn of the century. A geneaology center is located on the second floor.
