Historic railroad car

The park is anchored with a cupola-style caboose which has been restored as a working train car. The caboose has been decaled in tribute to the Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, which ran a rail line to the town of Ehrhardt contributing to its growth. The park serves as a memorial to the 19-year-old German immigrant, Conrad Ehrhardt, whose vision created and built Ehrhardt from the surrounding forest. His steam-powered saw mill created jobs, people came and other businesses started. It was this growth that led the railroads to build rail lines to handle the freight and eventually passengers. The caboose has limited handicap accessibility.
